Previously had no issues using the service. Today I received the message “This is not a valid number.” Others were on the conference and texted me. I saw that there was an FCC change recently, is the issue that Google fi did not accommodate the change? Anyone else seen this problem?
Hello,
We apologize for any inconvenience that you or your participants have experienced recently. There is currently a known issue where AT&T, Verizon, and other major carriers are not properly connecting their users into their conference calls. We strongly encourage you to open a trouble ticket with your carrier and demand that they connect you into your conference line. As a workaround, please utilize the backup number below. The backup number is used to reroute your call through a different call path, potentially giving you a better and stronger connection into the conference line.
Backup number instructions:
- Dial backup number (425) 535-9105
- You will now be prompted to dial the original dial-in number
- You will now be prompted to enter the access code
These issues are directly related to a new FCC order that is going into effect 1/11/2020. You can also reach out directly to the FCC with your concerns. They have an online complaint form you can access by going https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us.
We are also asking our customers to reach out to the FCC on our behalf, it you go to our web site here https://www.freeconferencecall.com/ and click on the link at the top of the page we have set up a really easy way for you to email your FCC commissioners to let them know what you think.
Lastly, please hashtag #savefreeconferencecall on your social media handles to spread awareness.
Thanks, I did not see this message before opening a support ticket just now. Feel free to disregard the support tkt.
