Apologies if this has been asked before but is there a way to hold participants until I as the host allows them to join video conference? Reason I ask is I am experimenting using FCC to teach music and sometimes students sign in earlier than their lesson time.

There is one thing you can do now.
Set Meeting Setting to “Wait for Host”. This won’t let people to have a conversation until host is present.
The formal meeting lobby allows more than that. If host IS present the host may want to moderate who be able to join to the meeting and who is not. This feature will be released in 2 weeks.
